Su Qu Tan


          This remedy is extracted and refined from platycodon grandiflorum, pollygala tenuifelia, rhus chinensisand, bornel through modern scientific process. It is a kind of expectorant with rapid action and for local use. It has remarkably anti inflammatory and antitussive effects. If infected with germs or breathe foul air or smoke too much, the throat and trachea may get inflamed to cause pain, cough and phlegm


          Su qu tan is most rapifly absorbed through the mucous membranes of the throat, as a result, it stimulates the secretion of mucus from the inner surface of the trachea and CNS and invigorating the cilia to remove sputa and stop coughs. It has antibiotic and anti inflammatory effect, too

Indication
Coughs, excessive sputum, dyspnea, laryngitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis, pulmonary emphysema and tonsillitis

Administration and dosage
Su qu tan should not be swallowed but allowed to dissolve in the buccal cavity. If taken into the stomach it will work less effectively
For adult, 1 tablespoon (0.2 grams) each time, 3-6 times daily and short
