Huo Hsiang Cheng Chi Shuei


          Huo hsiang cheng chi san was prescibed by Tai ping hui min he ji ju (The imperial pharmaceutic institute) of Sung dynasty. It was one of the populary used powered preparation of the time. The theme of the prescription has been adapted by physicians of various dynasties, so it has a clinical experience of eight to nine hundred years till the present day. Now adapting the ancient pharmaceutic process and by the aid of the modern scientific equipment, we are able to extract its effective ingredients to make it into the present condensed liquid preparation. To compare with the powdered preparation huo hsiang cheng chi shuei has a better therapeutic effect and renders the patients all kinds of facilities as to administration portability and storage

          For the attact of cold, irregularity of the digestive system, distention in the chest and diaphragm, vomiting and diarrhea, huo hsiang cheng chi shuei is really an effective remedy. Cheng Zhong Ling of Ching dynasty in his work Yi xue xin wu (literally understandings in medicine) stated "in hot summer days when one is attacked by cold be vomits and purges, this is caused by in retention of food and drink, to treat such a case it should be discriminated. If  the patient claims a thirst, it is a terible case and should be treated by huang lian xiang ru yin (coptis and elscholtzia patrini preparation). If he does not claim a thirst that is a simple cold and huo hsiang cheng chi san (pogostemi preparation) should be administered". Such is the best discrimination in the use of this remedy

Main ingredients
12.50% herba pogostemi
12.50% poria
12.50% pericarpium arecae
12.50% radix angelicae
12.50% folium perillae acutae
8.33% cortex magnoliae officinalis
8.33% rhizoma atractylodis
8.33% pericarpium citri reticulatae
8.33% rhizoma zingiberis
4.18% radix glycyrrhizae

Action
Anti heat stroke, systemic gastric and intestinal regulating, vomiting and diarrhea checking

Indication
Cold in summer days, fever and retention of food, vomiting and diarrhea, distention in the chest, headache and stomach ache

Administration
To be administered at the onset 3-5 cc for each dose, senere case double the dose, for children lessen the dose. Shake the bottle and dilute with cold boiled water

Prohibition
Do not eat raw, cold, only fatty and stodge food
